The Grants for the Conservation of Protected Structures has been around for some time (since 1999) but the recent BHIS scheme is new funding for smaller heritage restoration projects that may not qualify for this grant.
The Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) is an attractive scheme launched in 2020 which helps heritage buildings repair and restore their building for small-call projects. The micro-grant scheme is perfect for minor maintenance and repairs for buildings. Local authorities administer the offer so it makes sense for you to contact your local authority an inquire if your building is a candidate. The allocation for 2020 is up to €2.5 million.
We work to repair a lot of heritage roofs and some have availed of this attractive scheme.
